2 photographers, lovely light and some silliness i 2 photographers, lovely light and some silliness in the backyard. Being a photographer and then jumping on the other side of the camera is always a bit nerve wracking. Great reminder for us about just how nervous/vulnerable our clients may feel! After the first 10 minutes though you start to loosen up and then it’s all just silliness and fun! And of course there’s nothing quite like a backyard outfit change…
Shooting self portraits Step 1 - Set your camera Shooting self portraits

Step 1 - Set your camera up on continuous shooting and get your framing how you’d like it.

Step 2 - Focus. This would be the trickiest part. I’ve been using a broom with a ribbon on it. I focus the camera on the broom and then remove the broom and we stand or sit where it was.

Step 3 - Then pose/enjoy the moment with your little one. Tickling and changing positions of them is always a good one to get some variety.

Side note: if you have a camera which allows you to control it remotely including grabbing focus I recommend this. I’ve discovered an app connected to my camera which is great for starting the set of photos especially if I’m a few metres away from the camera.
Saturday with Dave and Kate ❤️An afternoon cel Saturday with Dave and Kate ❤️An afternoon celebration with their nearest and dearest in Kate’s parents backyard. Intimate and beautiful is how I would describe the vibe. I’m feeling very lucky to have been there to capture their celebration ❤️
